Associate deans determine whether and where need exists for faculty
to be included in the Course Scheduling Pool
Eligible faculty members identify their interest in being considered for
the Pool when submitting their preferences for the coming fall term.
Associate deans determine who will be included in the Pool.
Academic schools notify selected faculty no later than 3 weeks after
receiving the preferences and notice of interest.
After selected faculty confirm their selection into the Pool, academic
schools notify those faculty not selected into the Pool.
Academic Schools notify their HR representative and the Senior Labor
and Employee Relations Office of which faculty are selected into the
Pool.
Associate deans or designees complete the assignment process for the
coming fall term.
The assignment schedule for the remainder of the academic year
occurs as normal, with Pool members receiving initial offers averaging
at least 10 credit hours per term for each term during their inclusion
year.
Changes to pool status for a faculty member would be sent to the
faculty member in writing and to HR.
Review
1. At the conclusion of the summer assignment process in the pilot program’s
initial year, associate deans will review the process and provide an
assessment of its effectiveness.
2. If operational changes are deemed necessary after the initial pilot year, the
associate deans will revise the process and report changes to appropriate
stakeholders.
3. CNM’s Senior Labor and Employee Relations Office may request an
assessment of the process if the Course Scheduling Pool becomes the subject
of bargaining.
