1. Outline
This guide describes how to playback the recorded HDD with another unit in Play Only Mode in the WJ-HD300 series (hereinafter
expressed as HD300)
Applicable model: WJ-HD309, WJ-HD316, WJ-HD309A, WJ-HD316A, WJ-HDE300 used with WJ-HD300 series.

There is no compatibility in the HDD between WJ-HD309/316 and WJ-HD309A/316A.
Play Only Mode cannot be used for the HDD operated in RAID5 mode.
The HDD with physical failure may not be played back.
The HDD which has been stored for a long period may not be played back.
Network function is not available during the Play Only Mode.

3. Mounting the HDD into Playback unit
(1) Remove the recorded HDD from the original unit by referring the "operating instructions".
(2) Install the HDD to the playback unit by referring the "operating instructions"
4. Start Play Only Mode
(1) Start the playback unit in Play Only Mode by turning on the
power with "1" and "7" button pressed.
(2) Hold the "1" and "7" button until the start up screen is displayed.
(3) Play Only Mode message is displayed in about 3 minutes.

(4) Disk select menu is displayed after the startup. Select the
desired disk and then press "SET" button on the OK button
icon.

(5) Record list is displayed. Select a record then press
"PLAY" button to playback the record. It is possible
to copy the data to external medium when required
(Refer to the operating instructions).
(6) Press "SET/ESC" button to return to the disk select
menu when playback operation is completed.
(7) Turn off the power and restore the original HDD.
Caution +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Do not start the unit in normal mode when the HDD for playback is installed otherwise the format menu will be displayed at
start up.
