Residence Abroad ● ● Practical Training MBA Study The mission of the Mountbatten Institute is to foster international and cross-cultural understanding through experiential education, practical training and residence abroad, and to provide opportunities for personal growth and professional development. Mountbatten provides university graduates with hands-on training in business through a 12-month professional placement in London, while studying towards an MBA degree or Postgraduate Certificate in International Business Practice. Placements are available in: Finance Accounting Human Resources Marketing/ Communications Law Placement Companies Academics Steps to Apply In conjunction with the full-time placement, trainees study towards an MBA or Postgraduate Certificate (PGC) in International Business Practice. The academic program is designed to complement and enhance the experience gained in the workplace. Classes are held on weekends and evenings, with the MBA group meeting approximately six times a month and those pursuing the Certificate meeting four times a month. 1. Submit your application electronically, print a copy, and mail it with your resume, personal statement and $100 application fee (check or money order) to the New York office by the application deadline. MBA participants continue to Asia to complete their degree through a four-month guided fieldwork experience in the emerging market of Bangkok, Thailand. The PGC and MBA are awarded by St Mary’s University College, Twickenham. 2. Request an official copy of your university transcript(s). Business based degrees strongly preferred, but all majors are welcome to apply Proof of English language proficiency if non-native speaker (Please refer to ‘Eligibility’ at www.mountbatten.org) 3-6 months of office experience desired Desired Skills & Characteristics Application and Interview Following the application deadline, Mountbatten staff will evaluate all applications to determine a candidate's suitability for the program. Successful candidates will be invited to interview with Mountbatten staff in various locations throughout the US. Candidates based outside of the US will have the option to interview by videoconference. At interview, we will further explore your academic and work experience, interests and leadership roles, and discuss your placement options. A decision on acceptance into the candidate pool will be made shortly after interview. Phone interviews with London sponsor company managers begin approximately two months before the program start date.
