Globaloria Game Design
(Digital Imaging 2)
Digital Imaging 1
(Periods 2 and 3)
After a brief break last week to
engage in “A Very Grafton
Christmas” Card Design
Competition, the game designers
in Digital Imaging 2 are now
completing their first games using
Flash and ActionScript 3.0. Each
individual received hands-on
game design experience while
learning about game ingredients,
coding, and design tools. Many of
us are new to coding and it has
been a very challenging and
rewarding experience to see our
codes and drawings work
together! After Thanksgiving
break we will be beginning our
first Action games, and spending a
couple of weeks researching and
investigating educational content
to incorporate into the games.
The Digital Imaging 1 students have been
using their skills in Photoshop to complete
several projects. First, our students
competed in a Photoshop Creative
Manipulations competition, and I am proud
to announce our winners!
 Selective Coloring- Carrie Watkins
 Still Life- Carrie Watkins
 Portrait- Calvin Sinnett
and Trevor Heinzman
 Collage- Deserae Queen
 Landscape- Haden Hern
Last week the students also completed art
to submit to “A Very Grafton Christmas”
Card Design Competition. The winning
design will be featured in FBLA’s Christmas
Card Sale! And finally, this week, we are
working with Mrs. McCullough’s 3rd grade
class at West Taylor Elementary in a very
exciting Photoshop Realistic Interpretation
project.

GHS Web Designers have
been slowly learning the
components of the web
designsoftware that the
school website uses and have
been collecting and creating
content to input onto the site.
Due to attendance issues this
month, we have put off
coding our HTML sites until
December.
The students in BCA1 have been very productive
this month. Upon completing theSample Ad
Book project for the Entertainers group, the
students have engaged in several of Microsoft
Office IT Academy’s Digital Literacy lessons, and
will move on to engage in IT Academy’s
Microsoft Word lessons beginning this week.
The BCA1 students have also participated in “A
Very Grafton Christmas” Card Design
Competition. The designs will be displayed and
voted on in the main hallways at GHS this week.

**FBLA is putting together a Thanksgiving Dinner basket for families in Grafton. If
you have any of the following items, please bring them to Ms Devine inTC8.
-Canned Vegetables (corn, peas, beans, yams)
-Deserts (boxed/canned/pre-made pies, cakes, etc)
-Sides (mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, cornbread, etc)
*Ms. Devine will donate a turkey to the meal on completion of the basket.
The members of GHS FBLA have been very busy participating in Non-Stop
November activities, and have several activities and events going on this week.
After school on Monday, November 17, students will celebrate American Enterprise
Day by going to Anna Jarvis Elementary School to present a board game they
created to students in Project Isaac. The game, called “Lemon Squirts”, is played
on a game board and teaches the concepts of designing a business, entering into
the market, competing for customers within a market, and sales. The group is
then going across the street to tour Preston-Taylor Community Health Centers.
Tuesday, November 18th from 3:30-5:00 FBLA is hosting a Smash Brothers Melee
Tournament in TC8. The event will be a double bracket event and the grand prize
will get to choose an Amiibo of their choice to be pre-ordered!
Wednesday, November 19th at 3:30 is the next chapter meeting, and some of the
agenda items include debriefing recent events and planning community service
projects.
Monday, December 1st, FBLA will be ringing bells for Salvation Army at Wal-Mart
from 4-8. The time will be divided into 1-hour time slots. If you are interested in
participating and gaining community service hours, please see Kayla Mitchell for
more information.
A special thanks to our sponsors: Premiere Consulting, Preston-Taylor
Community Health Centers, Boston Beanery, Mirage Sound, Gump’s Shop N Save,
and Mike Manypenny.
Devine Enterprises
As the school year progresses, completers in Information Management are having
more Simulated Workplace experiences throughout the courses themselves. An
example of this is the Christmas Card project, where the winners of the competition
will be compensated and signing a contract for the piece-work as they would in the
“real-world” workplace. The artist whose designs are chosen will be credited on the
cards as they are printed. For more information on Devine Enterprises activities,
read each course update featured on the front of this issue of The Mouse Pad.
