Dietz Element Eatery Appetizer – 10 points o Complete Chemical/Physical Changes – you may work with a partner but DO NOT CHEAT! Main Dish- 80 points Choose one Main Dish to create: o Create a Mobile using construction paper, a coat hanger, string, and Element info sheet – details on the back. MUST BE NEAT AND CREATIVE o Create an Element Advertisiment using construction paper and Element info sheet. BE CREATIVE! o Create 2 visual representations of elements that make up certain things – use the visuals in your folder and data on the back tables as guidelines. MUST BE NEAT! o Create an Element Cube! This is primarily a research project where you will collect information about one element in the Periodic Table of Elements. The information collected will be compiled on a cube for presentation. Mobile- Create a Mobile using construction paper, a coat hanger and string. Your Mobile can be over a certain element or a Grouping ( Metals, Nonmetals or Metalloids) If you create a Mobile on an element the mobile must include information on Element name, atomic number, symbol, if it is a metal, nonmetal or metalloid, the Density of the element, what can be made with the element, and any other interesting information. BE CREATIVE!!! If you create a Mobile over the Periodic table, Metals, Metalloids, or Nonmetals you need to include the Name, properties of that group ( luster….), number of elements in the group, examples of elements and their uses Steps to create a Mobile 1. Cut out any shape from the paper to place your information and pictures on 2. Write your information on your shaped cards- REMEMBER this needs to be clearly written information that can be seen when the mobile is hanging from the ceiling. There is not a limit for how many shapes you have 3. Using a hole punch, punch a hole at the top center of the cut-out. 4. Thread yarn through the punched out hole. 5. Repeat steps 2 through 3 for each shape. 6. You can bend your hanger however you want to and your name needs to be on it 2. Create a Element Advertisment- Create an advertisement for your element using white and colored paper. The advertisement must include the element’s name, symbol, atomic number, atomic mass, cost, and an advertising slogan that describes one or more of its important uses. Advertisements must be neat, colorful, and contain all the information listed below. Atomic 33 You may draw pictures of things made with the element also. # Be sure to include: Symbol Element’s symbol Element’s name Atomic number Classification Ad slogan Cost Your name Arsenic Name You may add pictures or drawings that illustrate the various uses for your element. Visual – Pick two of the loctaions below and create a visual of the elements that are in it, you must include the Title of each visual, percentages of the element, the element name, if it is a metal, nonmetal or metalloid. Someone should be able to look at your visual and see what elements make up the largest and smallest part ofthe object. This needs to be very neat, correct and look like you spent time on it.
