A) Classical realism states that it is fundamentally the nature of humans that pushes states and individuals
to act in a way that places interests over ideologies. Seeks to explain international politics as a result of
human nature.
B) Neorealism (structural realism) derives from classical realism except that instead of human nature, its
focus is predominantly on the anarchic structure of the international system. States are primary actors
because there is no political monopoly on force existing above any sovereign.
C) Offensive realism is a structural theory belonging to the neorealist school of thought first postulated by
John Mearsheimer that holds that the anarchic nature of the international system is responsible for
aggressive state behaviour in international politics
D) Structural theory derieved from realism, argues that the anarchical structure of the international system
encourages states to maintain moderate and reserved policies to attain security.
