Linear Relationship Card Game Teacher notes on activity: Make sets of cards (suggest on 5x7 index), three to a set—one with a graph, one with an equation, and one with information about the graph and/or equation (a table, the equation in a different form, the intercepts, etc.). Provide one card to each student (some students might need two cards to make it work out). Have the students walk around the room in search of their appropriate partners. When every student is in a group of three, check to be sure the group is correctly formed. This check will consist of each group reading the information about their set, giving the equation and showing the graph. If they match, move on; if someone doubts the relationship then discuss why and if needed, find the correct matches. After each group has the right three cards, they will select just one of their cards (any of the three) to trade with another group— after they have decided, collect the other two cards. The groups then trade that card with another group. Each group will work together to make the missing information—the graph, the equation, or the information on a sheet of notebook paper to turn in for grading. Each student in the group should take notes during this part of the activity to use in their written summary of the activity.
