Stewardship and
My Actions
I. Christians are God’s
purchased people.
• A. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Or do you
not know that your body is the
temple of the Holy Spirit who is in
you, whom you have from God, and
you are not your own? For you were
bought with a price; therefore
glorify God in your body and in your
spirit, which are God’s.”
I. Christians are God’s
purchased people.
• B. 1 Corinthians 7:23 “You were bought
at a price; do not become slaves of men.”
• C. 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen
generation, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, His own special people, that you
may proclaim the praises of Him who
called you out of darkness into His
marvelous light.”
I. Christians are God’s
purchased people.
• D. Titus 2:13-14 “Looking for the
blessed hope and glorious appearing of
our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
who gave Himself for us, that He might
redeem us from every lawless deed and
purify for Himself His own special
people, zealous for good works.”

II. We must properly use
what God has given us.
• A. Material possessions.
•
1. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 “Now concerning
the collection for the saints, as I have given
orders to the churches of Galatia, so you
must do also: On the first day of the week let
each one of you lay something aside, storing
up as he may prosper, that there be no
collections when I come.”
II. We must properly use
what God has given us.
• A. Material possessions.
•
2. The remainder is God’s and should
not be misused. Luke 12:20-21 “But God
said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul
will be required of you; then whose will
those things be which you have
provided?’ So is he who lays up treasure
for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
II. We must properly use
what God has given us.
• B. Our life, talents and time.
•
1. Acts 17:24-25, 28 “God, who made the
world and everything in it, since He is Lord of
heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made
with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s
hands, as though He needed anything, since He
gives to all life, breath, and all things….for in
Him we live and move and have our being, as also
some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are
also His offspring.’”
II. We must properly use
what God has given us.
• B. Our life, talents and time.
•
2. Romans 12:6-8 “Having then gifts
differing according to the grace that is given to
us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy
in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use
it in our ministering; he who teaches, in
teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he
who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with
diligence; he who shows mercy, with
cheerfulness.”
II. We must properly use
what God has given us.
• C. The gospel.
•
1. 1 Peter 4:1-2, 11 “Therefore, since Christ
suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with
the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh
has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the
rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but
for the will of God….If anyone speaks, let him speak
as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him
do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in
all things God may be glorified through Jesus
Christ, to whom belong the glory and dominion
forever and ever. Amen.”
II. We must properly use
what God has given us.
• C. The gospel.
•
2. 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 “Let a man so consider
us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the
mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in
stewards that one be found faithful.”
•
3. 2 Timothy 2:2 “And the things that you
have heard from me among many witnesses,
commit these to faithful men who will be able to
teach others also.”
