2. Dynasty – A line of rulers who belong to the same family and pass
control from one generation to the next.
3. Ancestor – The people from whom a person is descended.
4. Oracle – A special priest in ancient Chinese society who was
believed to receive messages from the gods.
5. Huang River Valley – The valley of the Huang River in China and
the region where Chinese civilization was born.
6. An - Yang – A great city located on the Huang River, built by the
Shang; It was the political and cultural center of ancient China.
