No.11 Project Title: Segmentation and Grading of Skin Lesions Synopsis: Eczema is the most common form of dermatitis. It is an inflammation of the skin. The general symptoms of eczema are dry, red and inflamed skin. As a result the appearance of diseased skin is different from normal skin. This difference can be exploited using image processing techniques using information from the color and texture of lesions in the images. In this work image processing algorithm will be developed for segmenting Eczema skin lesions. It will help in the development of an automated approach to identify the extent of atopic eczema. In case of microscopic images this technique is used to develop virtual microscopic slides for analysis. At high magnifications the whole slide cannot be covered in one step. Therefore individual images have to be combined together spatially to convert into a single image. Area: Image Processing Implementation: C/C++ or Matlab. Complexity: Medium to High Expected Output: A method for image stitching/ virtual slide preparation.
