COURSE: Practicum in Dental Science – Dental Science Rotation

REQUIRED SUPPLIES: White lab jacket, colored pencils, 1-1/2 inch binder, pencil
pouch, loose-leaf paper, pen and pencil, highlighter, six
(6)dividers, time tracker, 1 box of Kleenex, 1 container of
wipes.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Dental Science is a 12-week rotation class offered in the junior year. The course is
designed to give the student an overview of the dental profession as well as to teach
specific skills that are necessary for success.
GRADING POLICIES:
50% Major Grades (Tests, Major Projects)
40% Daily Grades (Quizzes, Class work, Labs)
10% Participation (Homework and Class Participation)

NOTE: It is mandatory to wear your lab jacket everyday to the dental science
rotation. Scrub sets will not be worn in the dental science rotation unless the
teacher notifies the student. Students wearing the medical scrubs to class without
notification or teacher permission will receive a consequence.
