Necrotizing Fasciitis
What is the name of the most uncommon bacterial illness?
The most uncommon Bacterial illness is a flesh eating illness that is
called Necrotizing Fasciitis. And is commonly know as the flesh-eating
disease.
Can you give me the history of Necrotizing Fasciitis?
Necrotizing Fasciitis is a bacterial infection. Spreading rapidly, thus
destroying the body's soft tissue. Can you explain how this
illness is transmitted?
This bacterial infection can
be caused by bacteria
entering the body through a
break in the skin, cut,
scrape, burn, insect bite,
etc.
How do you treat
Necrotizing Fasciitis?
To cure Necrotizing Fasciitis you must be given strong antibiotics
through the vein. But, the antibiotics might not make it to the infected
and decaying areas, this may lead to a serious surgery to remove the
dead tissue. When was Necrotizing Fasciitis discovered and who discovered
it?
Necrotizing Fasciitis was discovered in France in 1783 by a group of
French doctors.
What is the cause of
Necrotizing Fasciitis?
Necrotizing Fasciitis is caused
by group A Streptococcus
(GAS) bacteria. Which is the
same type of bacteria that
causes strep throat. However,
several types of bacteria, such
as staphylococcus and many
others, have also been
associated with the disease.
What is the prognosis of Necrotizing Fasciitis?
The prognosis of Necrotizing Fasciitis is sometime deadly of fatal. But
in some cases you might end up with lost limbs and or you may be
handicapped depending on where the illness has spread.
What does Necrotizing Fasciitis look like?
Necrotizing Fasciitis looks like:
What are some symptoms or effects of Necrotizing Fasciitis?
Some symptoms or effects of Necrotizing Fasciitis can be death some
symptoms might include sudden or severe pain in the affected area,
fever, vomiting, nausea, fatigue, and other flu-like symptoms.
Redness, swelling, or fluid-filled blisters in the skin over the affected
area. Bubonic Plague or Black Death
What is the name of a viral disease that decreased the population
in the Middle Ages?
The name of the viral disease that decreased the population in the
Middle Ages is called Bubonic Plague or Black Death.
Can you give me some history on the Bubonic Plague or Black
Death?
The Bubonic Plague killed nearly half of the people of Europe during
in the fourteenth century. The plague was also known as "the Black
Death" because of the black spots that formed on the skin of the
people infected with the disease. The plague brought great changes to
Europe.
Can you explain how this disease
is transmitted?
In 1347, Italian merchant ships returned from the Black Sea, one of
the links along the trade route between Europe and China. The ships
were dirty and infested with rats.
Fleas living on the blood of infected
rats transferred the disease to the
seamen. Many of the sailors were
already dying of the plague as the
infected ships returned to port, and
within days of an infected ship's
arrival, the disease spread from the
port cities to the surrounding
countryside.
How do you treat Bubonic Plague or Black Death?
You cannot treat Bubonic Plague or Black Death because it is a virus
and viruses cannot be cured but you can prevent or stabilize The
Bubonic Plague or Black Death by receiving a vaccine.
When was Bubonic Plague or Black Death discovered and who
discovered it?
The Bubonic Plague or Black Death was discovered in in the late
1900's by a French biologist Alexandre Yersin.
What is the cause of The Bubonic Plague or
Black Death?
The cause for Bubonic Plague or Black Death is
infected rats with fleas living on the rats blood
and then transferring to the human.
What is the prognosis of The Bubonic Plague or Black Death?
The prognosis of the Bubonic Plague or Black Death was fatal back in
the Middle Ages but now if caught early it can be stabilized with
modern day vaccines.
What does The Bubonic Plague or Black Death look like?
The Bubonic Plague or Black Death looks like:
What are some symptoms or effects of The Bubonic Plague or
Black Death?
The first sign of the plague was often an ache in the limbs. The lymph
nodes would also swell. The swelling continues for three or four days
until the lymph nodes burst. The illness is often called the Bubonic
Plague. Buboes is a Greek word that refers to swollen glands.
