FIBERWISE® FAQ
How does FiberWise® help support heart health?
It’s now been shown that diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol that include 7 grams of soluble fiber per
day from psyllium husk may reduce the risk of heart disease.
How does FiberWise help support digestive health?
FiberWise helps keep food moving through your digestive tract, and helps bulk up stools. Some of the fiber
it contains can also feed healthy bacteria in your digestive tract, boosting digestive health. Research shows
that a high-fiber diet helps maintain good health.
How much fiber does the average American consume each day?
The average American consumes between 10 and 15 grams of fiber a day—far less than the recommended
amount of fiber. Women should get between 21 and 29 grams of fiber a day, and men should get between
30 and 38 grams of fiber a day.
The type of fiber you’re getting counts, too. You should try to get a balance of soluble and insoluble fibers.
You’ll get soluble fiber in foods like oatmeal, lentils, apples, oranges, pears, oat bran, strawberries, nuts,
flaxseeds, beans, and carrots. You’ll get insoluble fiber in foods like whole wheat, whole grains, barley,
brown rice, broccoli, cabbage, green beans, dark leafy vegetables, and grapes.
Don’t I get enough fiber from the foods I eat?
While many foods contain fiber, it would take a substantial increase in them to get all the fiber you need
each day. For example, it would take either 7 slices of whole wheat bread, 5 cups of broccoli, 18 cups of
spinach, or 40 baby carrots to equal the 12 grams of fiber you get from one glass of FiberWise. While you
absolutely should be eating a fiber-rich diet, supplementing with FiberWise is a great way to ensure that
you’re getting the optimal amount of fiber.
Is FiberWise the same product I’ve been taking, or has it changed?
FiberWise has a new look and some new additions to the line, but the FiberWise Drink formula hasn’t
changed. The new sugar-free FiberWise Drink contains the same formula as the original FiberWise Drink,
and the all-new FiberWise Bars contain a formula similar to FiberWise Drinks.
How much fiber is in FiberWise Drinks and Bars?
FiberWise Drinks contain 12 grams of fiber per serving (2 scoops of powder). FiberWise Bars contain 10
grams of fiber each.
What makes the FiberWise formula so unique?
In addition to fiber from seven sources, including psyllium husk fiber, FiberWise also contains a proprietary,
scientifically balanced blend of soothing herbs, antioxidants, and probiotics to make it a truly one-of-a-kind
health supplement.
Why are both soluble and insoluble fibers important and how do they work?
Soluble fiber dissolves in water and forms a gel-like substance during digestion. In this form, it traps excess
sugars, fats, and cholesterol as it moves through the intestines, helping sweep them out of the body. It also
plays an important role in lowering LDL blood cholesterol and reducing blood glucose levels after eating.
Good dietary sources of soluble fiber include psyllium, oat bran, apples, pears, beans, barley, lentils,
artichoke, nuts, and flax seeds.
Insoluble fiber is never dissolved. Instead, it acts like a sponge, soaking up to 15 times its weight in water.
Its primary benefit is to provide bulk, which can help promote feelings of fullness while also speeding up the
movement of food through the digestive system, promoting regularity.
Good dietary sources of insoluble fiber include rice bran, wheat bran, vegetables, and fruit.

Why does FiberWise use diverse sources of fiber?
Unlike protein, which reacts the same in the body regardless of the source, different sources of fiber have
distinct actions in the body to keep you healthy in different ways. That’s why FiberWise is formulated with
a unique blend of 7 natural fibers, including psyllium, oat, apple, rice bran, inulin, maltodextrin fiber, and
fructooligosaccharide (FOS) to provide a full spectrum of benefits.
FiberWise is formulated to be 80% soluble, 20% insoluble, providing the research-recommended levels for
ideal daily fiber intake. That means the bulk of the fiber is working to remove undigested fat, cholesterol,
and waste for heart and general health benefits, while there’s still plenty of insoluble fiber to promote
regularity and digestive health.
Why is psyllium husk fiber called a “super” fiber?
Psyllium is the most effective form of fiber for naturally absorbing and thereby lowering cholesterol. Just 7
grams of this precious fiber a day may reduce the risk of heart disease.
What does “natural psyllium” mean?
“Natural psyllium” refers to psyllium husk fiber, a natural dietary fiber derived from a flowering shrub-like
plant named Plantago ovata, or psyllium.
Is FiberWise gluten-free?
Yes.
What does gluten-free mean?
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) defines a gluten-free product as one that does not contain
any ingredient derived from wheat, rye, or barley, and that contains less than 20 parts per million of gluten.
How does FiberWise help me feel fuller longer between meals?
FiberWise thickens and forms a gel, slowing digestion and absorption, which aids in the sensation of
fullness, allowing you to feel less hungry between meals.
What scientific evidence is there for the heart health claim?
Extensive scientific data reviewed by the FDA shows that psyllium husk, which FiberWise contains, may
help lower cholesterol to reduce the risk of heart disease when part of a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet.
Are there other supplements that can help me maintain a healthy digestive system?
Florify®, Melaleuca’s incredible probiotic supplement, contains a proprietary blend of seven probiotic
sources plus prebiotics to help nourish the healthy bacteria in your digestive tract and encourage their
growth.
Why is the serving size different for FiberWise Drink original and sugar-free powders?
Serving size amounts differ by variety because the sweeteners and flavorings used in each product vary in
volume.
When’s the best time of day to take FiberWise?
You can take FiberWise any time of day, although we recommend taking it just prior to mealtimes—
especially before your evening meal. If you’re using FiberWise to help you feel fuller between meals, you
should take it before eating other foods. Remember, get at least 8 ounces of water or liquid with a full
serving, or at least 4 fluid ounces of water or liquid with a half serving. Our powder must be mixed with
liquid.
Because FiberWise is highly absorbent, it may affect how medicines you are taking are absorbed by your
body. If you have any concerns, you should consult your physician.

What is the Peak Performance Metabolic Bundle, and why is FiberWise® part of the bundle?
This bundle includes the Peak Performance Metabolic Pack, a value-size GC Control™ bag, and a 30-day
