Turmeric Root
Native to southwest India, Turmeric root has become one of the most popular
herbs in terms of its medicinal properties. Known to be useful for digestion, pain,
inflammation and immune enhancement, turmeric is now available in various
forms. If you visit our juice bar you can order a turmeric shot or choose it as an add-in to a juice. If
you have a juicer at home juice a fresh root along with an orange or an apple to make your own turmeric shot. It can also be found as a fresh root in our produce department. We have a wide variety of options of turmeric in our Natural Living department. Choose from capsules, powders, blends
and herbal extracts. Two of the Rasa fresh pressed juices contain turmeric root.
Turmeric is also referred to as Curcumin which actually is an active component of turmeric root. If
you are taking turmeric or curcumin for its cancer fighting properties make sure the label states
‘curcuma longa’ which is the recommended form to support the immune system. The most popular
formula for fighting pain and inflammation is Terry Naturally’s CuraMed line of products. Curcumin
is combined with boswellia, DLPA, and nattokinase to provide one of the most powerful antiinflammatory and pain relieving combinations you can find. Ask one of our associates for more information.
Truth About Cancer
Mark your calendar for April 12th which is when the highly popular online documentary series The
Truth About Cancer will be re-released for no charge. If you or a loved one is looking for an alternative approach to treating cancer other than surgery, radiation or chemo, this is a highly educational, informative and inspiring video series you won’t want to miss. Each day you will be able to
watch the episode being viewed, at no charge. Ty Bollinger is the producer of this wonderful series
and is also the author of the book Cancer: Step Outside the Box which is the book I personally

The Truth About Cancer
Armed to the Teeth
Ever wonder how people cleaned and whitened their teeth before fluoride? As early as ancient times, people tackled oral health with botanicals. But over the years, there’s been a
transition to conventional treatments that are abrasive, chemical-based, expensive and may
be harmful in large doses (such as with sodium fluoride). With all of nature’s ingredients that
are suitable for oral care, why risk using conventional products?

Chew away plaque? Yes! Acacia arabica, a type of gum-yielding tree, can significantly
reduce plaque (compared with sugar-free gum) primarily by helping with the early deposition of plaque.
• Neem has long been used for teeth cleaning because of its anti-plaque and antibacterial characteristics.
• In various studies, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) whitened teeth and reduced the
appearance of stains more effectively than the commercial standard.
• Xylitol, often used as an sweetener, may help reduce tooth decay by preventing bacteria from sticking to the teeth
• Silica is also often added to teeth-whitening products for stain removal without the
harsh abrasions. Whole Foods Magazine
