Lung Cancer ALK/ROS1/RET Testing Panel
Fusion Gene Detection
The ability to detect cancer specific fusion genes is important
Disease Relevance:
not only in cancer research, but also increasingly in clinical
Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
settings to ensure that correct diagnosis is made and the
optimal treatment is chosen. Current methodologies to detect such fusion genes all
have distinct shortcomings. The detection of fusion genes in cancer is laborious and
time consuming and usually includes fluorescence-in situ hybridization (FISH) studies
and molecular analyses based on the reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction
(RT-PCR).
LC Testing Panel Description
Yin-Yang probes are a novel technology for
nucleic acid detection and related
applications (Patent No. US 7799522). The
probe itself is non-fluorescent due to the
close proximity of the fluorophore and the
quencher. In the presence of target the
negative strand is displaced by the target
and the fluorophore becomes fluorescent.
The Lung Cancer ALK/ROS1/RET Testing
Panel is a novel multiplex reverse
transcription real-time PCR (RT-qPCR) system for simultaneous detection of 6 fusion
genes including 35 fusion variants. Fusion and control gene transcripts are co-amplified
in each reaction and identified by specific fluorescent probes. The LC Testing Panel
provides a sensitive, specific, reliable and cost-effective tool that is easy to perform for
the routine screening of lung cancer fusion transcripts.
