This song sets six stanzas from a poem written by the actor Robin Bailey which was published in the Christmas 1991 edition of the Wandsworth Society Newsletter.
It was commissioned by Nick Bailey, his son, for performance at Robin Bailey's memorial service at St Paul's Church, Covent Garden, London, on 6 May 1999.
