Headline News
Ashley Grubbs graduated from the Sikeston LPN School on June 27 and quickly landed a nursing job
at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter. Payden is very proud of his mom as are all of us at M2M.
Alicia Jackson was the successful bidder for the $50 Penney’s gift card, the final item offered at the
auction held during the Fun, Food, and Fellowship meeting in July. And FUN IT WAS as eighteen
M2Mers used their excess Baby Bucks in a friendly bidding war to take home a variety of household
items such as small appliances, rugs, and kitchenware. Everyone went home happy, but Alicia was the
happiest of them all!

Summer Baker. “My son, Braxton, can stand up by himself. I think he is smart because he can
already mimic many sounds and actions.”
Danielle Bateman. “My boys and I enjoyed a vacation trip to Michigan to visit family. On the way
up, we made a stop in Metropolis, Illinois, where the boys were amazed by all the Superman exhibits.
Then on the way back, we stopped in Kentucky, where they make the ‘Louisville Slugger’ baseball bats.
My kids are growing up. A few days ago, Tyler celebrated his eighth birthday.”
Haley Dabbs. “My daughter, Addyson, is rolling over and has found her feet.”
Alicia Jackson. “My kids, Kaden and Zach, like to play outside and swim in their grandmother’s
pool. We are all enjoying our summer.”
Whitney Jones. “Wyatt has had a great summer. In June, he attended the pre-kindergarten summer
school session and is looking forward to the real thing in a few weeks. He also learned to swim and got
several big hits while at bat for his T-ball team. Wyatt is also looking forward to the birth of his baby
sister, which could be any day now!”
Kandiss Lineberry. “At only four months of age, Isaac has learned to sit upright.”
Jennifer Martin. “My little boy, Emerson, is learning new words each day.”
Courtney Twomey. “I plan to name my baby Eli.”
Patty VanVickle. “Anna is talking more and more and can mimic several animal sounds.”
Jessie and Juan Rivera. “Lexi recognizes shapes and colors and uses her Leap Pad to practice on
writing her name.”
Nuranda Tucker. “Camden is now rolling over and putting everything he can find into his mouth.
He’s becoming such a ‘Big Little Man.’”

Tate Midkiff. “Faith has been enjoying the summer. She likes to swim, play outside, and eat
popsicles. When we talk about Head Start, she says she is ready to go back.”
 Mollie Fields. “My son, Wyatt, is growing fast and can now pull himself up and walk while holding
onto furniture. My daughter, Payten, has learned many new words and is beginning to put them
together and speak in real sentences. She loves to help me clean and cook, and she likes to draw.
Payten also helps out with her younger brother, who now weighs almost as much as she does!”
 Samantha Spencer. “Life is good and this summer has been a blast. Miss Ivie will be going to Head
Start in a few weeks, and she is excited to begin.”
 Heather Rodgers. “Sarah is learning to spell and read basically on her own. She is always learning
something new. We think Colton is just wonderful and he is growing so fast!”
 Kelli Oliver. “Garrett loves playing with his tractors and being outside. He knows the words to lots of
country songs and often sings them. Whether inside or outside, Garrett especially enjoys every minute
he spends with his daddy.”
 Megan Kirby. “My daughter, Madelynn, is a happy and active baby who likes to play with her feet
and laughs a lot. I think her first tooth is trying to come through.”
 Deneka Harris. “It’s all good.”

If you come to play group or Fun, Food, and Fellowship, you and your child are sure to make new friends,
eat good food, have great fun, and learn a few things. In addition to all this, you can also RECEIVE a
REWARD! Attend and participate in at least THREE regularly-scheduled M2M activities during a
THREE-MONTH PERIOD and earn a $30 reward.
BIRTH CONTROL pills and the Nuva Ring, PAP smears, and a variety of health services are available at
an AFFORDABLE COST through the Stoddard County Health Center in Bloomfield at 568- 4593.
REMEMBER that taking antibiotics may diminish the pill’s effectiveness and that an alternative method of
birth control should be used. If you miss taking a birth control pill for two days in a row, you should talk
with your doctor or health unit immediately for further instructions. The strength of each birth control pill is
formulated to prevent conception for only 24 hours, so it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY THAT YOU
TAKE YOUR PILL AT THE SAME TIME EACH DAY.
SAVE PULL TABS FROM ALL CANS and BRING THEM TO THE M2M OFFICE. Those
LITTLE TABS add up to BIG MONEY for Ronald McDonald Houses that provide shelter to families
with children who require medical treatment in large hospitals in major cities all over the country.
