Janine Gianfredi
Chief Marketing Officer
U.S. Digital Service, The White House
Janine Gianfredi is the chief marketing officer of the U.S. Digital Service at The White House, where she
leads strategic communications and marketing for the two year old government startup. In this position,
she also serves as an advisor across the Federal government on product communications and tech
industry engagement. Before joining the White House, Janine spent ten years at Google, most recently
as the head of marketing for Google[x], responsible for the self-driving car project, Verily, and Project
Loon. Janine managed marketing and partnerships for Google Glass, where she launched the Glass
Explorer Program, designed to allow consumers to shape the future of a new product category. At
Google New York, Janine developed partnerships with advertising agencies, conceptualizing global
marketing programs and campaigns designed to bring technology to life. She began her career in
pharmaceuticals at Eisai, working on technology systems integration. Janine is a magna cum laude
graduate of Rutgers University, holding a B.A. in English & Political Science, with certificates from the
Institute for Women’s Leadership and the Eagleton Institute of Politics. She lives between Washington
D.C. and San Francisco with her husband and two dogs, and is an amateur chef, an inflexible yogi, and a
lover of travel.
