The ghost of his “morally untidy” first wife, Elvira, turns Charles’s staid marriage to the priggish Ruth into a prickly ménage à trois. Noel Coward’s comedy is filled with plenty of laughs, and was one of the longest running comedies in London. One of Shakespeare’s four great tragedies, this play explores the fine line between Othello’s passionate love and dangerous jealousy, while tangling with issues of race, gender, sex, marriage, hate, manipulation, and identity!
