Many of you may know Karyn from the daily Hollywood 411
segment on Manchester’s own HOT HITS (94.1/103.1 FM) radio
station, but for us, we simply know her as Karyn...Karyn, with the
girl next door smile.
As you start (or continue) your journey into motherhood, there are a few things to always

After marrying her college sweetheart of 13 years (married for
five), Karyn Jennings is having a baby!
With motherhood on the horizon, it only seemed natural for this
quick-witted, creative soul to share her pregnancy experiences
through a weekly blog. A blog that she hopes will continue to
entertain her readers:
Believe me, I don’t think I’m anything special by having a
baby. I know women have babies every day, so it makes me no different, but
hopefully this [blog] will be entertaining if anything. I intend to share the
good, the bad, and the ugly, so get ready to ride this roller coaster with me.

Here I am, thinking about writing my first pregnancy blog, and I literally just had
to undo the zipper on my jeans...
While giving up your scale completely, isn’t a reality for a lot of
us, there are some key things that you need to consider the next
time you step on it – especially if you do it daily.
The second they put the wand on my belly and the image of that perfect little baby
appears, I am calm...
Scale weight fluctuates WILDLY
Over the course of a day (or even a few hours!) your weight can
fluctuate by as much as five pounds – sometimes even more.
QUICK AND DELICIOUS
Scale weight says nothing about your health
The reality is, the number on your scale is NOT an indicator of
your health. Just because you weigh a certain amount, doesn’t mean you are healthy or
unhealthy.
And finally...
If you are allowing the scale to determine how you feel about yourself – STOP IT!
The scale represents ONLY one factor – your weight. When weighing yourself remember the
scale is unable to measure your body fat percentage, cardiovascular health, or even your

14 ounces Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Fillets (about 2 medium breasts)
1 tablespoon canola or grape-seed oil, divided
2 cups broccoli slaw
1 cup shelled edamame, thawed if frozen
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
1/4 cup dry roasted salted peanuts, chopped
Chopped fresh cilantro
4 whole wheat tortillas
Directions:
In a small bowl, stir together all of the sauce ingredients: peanut butter, soy sauce,
honey, Sriracha, ginger, and lime. Set aside.

Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Heat half of the oil in a large, non-stick skillet over

and sauté until they are tender, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
