Master in the making of Dictionaries and Quality Control/ Spanish Lexicon
The master proposed in "Development of dictionaries and quality control of Spanish
lexicon" links with philological and linguistic with contemporary currents such as pragmatics,
lexicography, lexical syntax, as well as a number of approaches in applied linguistics that
combine philological and linguistic rigor to the needs of the contemporary world, focusing on
the observation and treatment of the lexical unit.
The aim pursued with the development of this master is to guide the student towards
training that can be useful both in terms of research and in professional activity. The opening of
these two pathways, perhaps seemingly contradictory, makes it possible to harmonize both
options, which are certainly necessary considering the sociological and university situation
which our country is currently facing and the general trends governing contemporary linguistic
science.
The program we propose starts from the presentation of contemporary linguistics in the
fields that we believe to be more related to lexicography. Both general theoretical and practical
aspects of lexicography are covered and also their connection with the basic disciplines of
contemporary trends in linguistics, and always studied from the Hispanic domain. Hence the
proposal of three specializations and hence the importance given to the disciplines related to the
lexicon: pragmatics, syntax, etc.
