The information in the story gives us clues about the message in the story. Ask: 1. What did the characters say or do in the story? 2. What message does the author want to give us? 3. What mainly happened in the story? Math practice: Practice adding any 3 numbers today, such as, 2 + 6 + 3 = ___ Make up an equation with 3 numbers and have your child write a word problem to go with it. For example, using the equation above: 2 children slide, 6 children swing and 3 children climb. How many children are on the playground in all?
