a comparison
of our gas supply
standard form
contract and
our fair go
bonus offer
Overview
Our Fair Go Bonus Offer includes our Gas Supply
Residential Market Contract and the Fair Go
Bonus Offer Details [“Fair Go Bonus”]. Our
Gas Supply Residential Market Contract is a
non-standard contract.
There are a number of differences between our
Gas Supply Standard Form Contract [“Standard
Form Contract”] and our Gas Supply Residential
Market Contract [“Residential Market Contract”],
which include differences relating to:
• price;
• unsolicited consumer agreements;
• commencement date;
• changing the terms and conditions;
• warranties;
• bonus offers and promotions; and
• how we publish things.
These differences are explained further in the
table inside this brochure.
Terms that are italicised but not defined in this
document have the meaning given to them
in our Residential Market Contract and Fair Go
Bonus Offer Details.

Price
The price you pay is the standard residential price.
The price you pay is the standard residential price.
The Fair Go Bonus is the “13th month free”, a credit equal to your average monthly
gas bill [in A$] across the previous 12 month period, which will be applied as a
credit to your first bill following the one year anniversary of registering for the offer.
In order to receive the Fair Go Bonus, you must remain an Alinta Energy customer
for at least 12 months from the Commencement Date.
Unsolicited Consumer
Agreements
This concept is only applicable to the Standard Form Contract if you
entered into the agreement on an unsolicited basis.
The Non-Standard Contract provides more detailed information in respect of
unsolicited consumer agreements, in particular the right to cancel the contract
within the 10 business day cooling-off period and how to exercise that right, as well as
certain exclusions in relation to us supplying you gas during the cooling-off period.
Commencement date
Our Standard Form Contract commences on the day you open your
account at the supply address.
Our Fair Go Bonus offer commences on the day you accept our offer.
Changing the terms
and conditions
We can change the terms and conditions without your consent but
we must submit any proposed changes for approval by the Economic
Regulation Authority.
We can change the terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any
amendment to the terms and conditions you can end the contract by providing us
with at least 3 business days notice prior to the day you want the contract to end or
elect to be supplied by us under our Gas Supply Standard Form Contract.
Warranties
Our Standard Form Contract contains no express reference to
guarantees or warranties. However you have rights and guarantees
under relevant regulations and relevant codes [including the Australian
Consumer Law] that cannot be excluded.
Our Residential Market Contract acknowledges that you have certain rights and
warranties under relevant regulations and relevant codes [including the Australian
Consumer Law]. We do not purport to modify or exclude any guarantees or
warranties which are required by law.
Bonus offers
and promotions
Our Standard Form Contract does not allow us to make available to you
bonus offers and promotions if such promotion or bonus offer results in
an amendment to the terms and conditions of the Gas Supply Standard
Form Contract.
Under our Residential Market Contract, we can make available to you offers and
promotions and if you choose to accept any offer or promotion the terms of that
promotion or offer will be incorporated in and form part of the terms and conditions
of the Residential Market Contract.
