Why 20%
Why not 2%
1) We need to “discover” the CSB
2) Cost recovery with few tools
3) They Cap year
Clarification (loose jobs?)
4) Support for experiential learning
5) What is job ready (100%) for students?
Are we heading towards 100% apprenticeships (Germany)?
6) Contradiction between … Cap year/…
7) New way of learning/online/etc.

Little that genuinely differentiates CAP

STRATEGIC PLAN DRAFT
Areas where Plan works:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
Employability – CSB & Certificate programs ensure employment
Focus on teaching excellence
Field Schools, exchanges
E Portfolios
At least this is a Draft Plan
Community linkages – net working
Problematic:
1. Everything will change in 3 years – Most CSB are relatively efficient and generate revenue
therefore don’t change.
2. Too much change will have detrimental effect on reputation.
3. Definition of general education – would extra time/credits be required.
4. Focus on Degree – however, Certificates & Diplomas feed into Degree. Certificates satisfy
employability.
5. Requires more experiential business activities. How to achieve.
