SMOKY MOUNTAIN JET BOATS One of the newest and hottest watersports adventure attractions is the “jet boat ride.” An adrenaline-pumping combination of roller coaster and whitewater rafting, highly maneuverable jet boats skim across the water, zig and zag in exciting turns, and even spin full 360s. The “Wow!” factor entices spectators to join the fun, and best of all, jet boating is suitable for all ages! Smoky Mountain Jet Boats is a leading manufacturer of New Zealand-style jet boats. We pride ourselves on the quality of the craftsmanship, ease of maintenance, and simplicity of design. We provide total support, enabling a profitable water sports business using our jet boats and requiring minimal capital, staffing and insurance costs. Check out You Tube videos at www.needmore.com. We offer 12 and 25-passenger boats in varying lengths and dead rise for variable conditions, enabling you to choose the design that bests suits your venue. 12-PASSENGER BOATS 20 feet long, these boats can be built with an 8-degree or 12-degree rise. We recommend the 12-degree to comfortably handle waves and chop less than 1.5’. The 8-degree boat will spin a full 360 degrees but requires completely flat water. 25-PASSENGER BOATS We manufacture two 25-passenger boats. 25’ GAS OR DIESEL These boats spin with ease, have a shorter nose, smaller engine bay, and a 10-degree or 15-degree bottom. There are two options for the jet unit: l Hamilton 212 - mechanical reverse and needs to be taken out of the water every day. l HJ 213 – hydraulic reverse, higher grade stainless drive shaft, and can be left in the water. Top speed 40 knots loaded, operational at 30 knots. The performance with the Steyr diesel (see Engines below) is an excellent package and will prove to be very economical. 30’ DIESEL These boats have a longer bow and bigger engine bay. This boat is very seaworthy and provides an exciting ride – spinning 270 degrees. Powered by your choice of diesel engines with a Hamilton 241 jet creates great results. Top speed of 40+ knots loaded, operational at 30 knots. Choose from a variety of engines. GAS: We use a LS 3 GM base Corvette Motor that delivers 415 hp in a lightweight package. Diesel: We recommend the Steyr SE306 which produces a whopping 300 hp at 4300 rpm. It can be coupled with the HJ212 or HJ213 and is proven to work well in either the 12-passenger or the 25-seater, drastically reducing operating and fuel costs. Combining our skills and craftsmanship with marine grade 5000 series aluminum results in a good looking, strong, light and long-lasting boat. Shallow Draft - Once on plane our 12-seaters only require a 4” draft, the 25-seaters only 6”; the boats need 18” to 24” respectively to get up on plane. We have done all the leg work to make sure our boats meet USCG standards – the most stringent in the maritime world. Our excellent designers include Maxwell & Hall out of New Zealand and Rob Norton, PE from Swiftwater Consultants in Tampa, Florida. We utilize American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) international standards for Naval High Speed Craft of 65’ specifications: therefore meeting/exceeding all international standards. Designs are reviewed and approved by the USCG. In the USA we deliver you a boat with a Certificate of Inspection from Sector North Carolina and will assist with your local USCG and “New to Zone” inspection, including liasion with the Local Officer in Charge of Marine Inspection (OCMI). Captains requirements: l 25-ton Masters license l Complete a training program l Write an operations and safety management system for your ride. Assistance and templates are provided with purchase. Boats come with 1 color Awl Grip 2000 paint. A full graphic design package for both the boat as well as your operations (website, rack cards, business cards, etc.) is available.
