FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CRCP2016
CARIBBEAN REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF
PSYCHOLOGY
Haiti, November 7-11, 2016
The Caribbean Alliance of National Psychological Associations
(CANPA) hereby
announces
the
upcoming
Caribbean Regional
Conference of Psychology, CRCP 2016, to be held in P o r t - A u P r i n c e , Haiti, from November 7-11, 2016. Our hosts will be the
Association Haitienne de Psychologie and the theme of CRCP 2016 is
Promoting Caribbean Health With Multiculturalism and
Multilingualism: Challenges and Opportunities.
The Conference theme seeks to highlight the importance of promoting
health in the Caribbean Region with an understanding and appreciation of
the multicultural and multilingual nature of the region. The Caribbean
region, a mosaic of different cultures and languages, is an ideal context in
which to promote a useful and informed discourse about multiculturalism
and multilingualism for development. Using health as a landscape allows
the opportunity to unpack the existing challenges and opportunities in
promoting human development while employing and celebrating the rich
cultural diversity of the Caribbean. The presentations from regional and
international psychologists will address issues that impact on our psychosocial development in the wider Caribbean.
CRCP 2016 plans to promote the growth of psychology and its services,
through regional and international collaboration and professional
networking. We anticipate that this conference will enhance the welfare of
our people across the region through improved clinical and healthcare
services, consultation, teaching and research. Hosting the conference in
Haiti at this time will also afford conference participants in “real time” to
assess, create, disseminate, and train participants in disaster mental health
in the Caribbean.
CANPA hereby invites those interested in the wellness of the larger
Caribbean region to participate in CRCP 2016. We also welcome sponsors
and supporters who would like to join us in this event.
