Selah
A word frequently found in the Book of Psalms, and also in #Hab 3:9,13 about seventy-four
times in all in Scripture.
Some interpret it as meaning "silence" or "pause";
"a louder strain," “piano”
A time to pause, to listen, to passionately release that emotion that is built up inside.
Man’s idea of prayer …religious exercise…recited, memorized, Read, longer the better, fancy
words,
Prayer at it’s simplest is communication with God
Communication builds relationship.
Relationship with God brings favor
Favor attracts the blessing of God
The Blessing of the Lord will cause all things to work together for my good.
Goal: to come into such an agreement with God that our prayers we pray harmonize with what
Jesus himself is praying.
Lu 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to
faint;
Faint – an abrupt loss of consciousness, to be alive but not moving. To be as one who is dead.
Weakened in purpose or spirit.
Desire – Discipline – Delight
Faith cannot work without hope and hope cannot be obtained without prayer.
Faith = the inner conviction of the infallible word of God
Hope = the painted picture of God’s vision on your heart
1. Prayer of Agreement

6. Prayer of Authority
a. Matthew 18:18-19
Prayer establishes his Authority
You have been given kingdom authority and are responsible to establish his Authority
Yourself – what is in your control
Your circle of influence- what you have a say in
Intercession in area of concern – what you have no control over
We all have temptation – trying times of proving
Evil - Hardship, harassments, pressure, annoyance, trouble… and the one who brings it
Lord, I’m not asking you to trouble me, but if I have trouble deliver me from the troublemaker.
I Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
4 types of people in the World
Those that are fallen and they know they have fallen
Those that are fallen and they think they are standing
Those that are standing carelessly and about to fall
Those that have fallen, but got back up and are now moving forward with eyes wide open
Take heed – to perceive with the eye, discern, contemplate
Sharpen my spiritual senses…don’t let me be caught off guard
I Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God
is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Look for your way of escape and then TAKE IT
