Children’s hospital at Westmead is the largest children’s hospital in
Australia and the second largest paediatric cardiac surgical
programme in the country. It is one among the two nationally
funded hospitals with an active Norwood programme and majority
of cases operated are complex congenital cardiac surgeries and
neonatal surgeries.

pathophysiology of this disease is explained, a classification system proposed and a
management algorithm is detailed.

improve immediate postoperative outcomes in cyanotic children undergoing cardiac

3. Reoxygenation injury: Effect on Renal and Hepatic systems. Retrospective
analysis of a prospective randomised study group.
4. Gastrointestinal Stromal tumours: Clinical imaging and pathological profileDescriptive study.
Ongoing Research
1. Presently working on the effect of distal pulmonary obstruction and elevated
atrial pressures on pulmonary flow in left to right shunts. The differential
effects of flow and pressure on pulmonary circulation and the factors
contributing to irreversibility of elevated pulmonary vascular disease is being
investigated.

system for Tetralogy of Fallot with unilateral absence of pulmonary atresia. (PubMed
