Geometry Photo Scavenger Hunt
Your task will be to find the treasures of geometry found in the world around you. In order to
accomplish this task, you and two teammates must find these treasures, take pictures of them, put the
pictures in a photo album, and explain what they are.
The following are the treasures that you must find and take pictures of:
o A pattern
o A pair of parallel lines cut by a transversal
o Segment Bisector
o Pentagon
o Angle Bisector
o Hexagon
o Complementary Angles
o Heptagon
o Linear Pair/Supplementary Angles
o Octagon
o Vertical Angles
o Square
o Skew Lines
o Rhombus
o Perpendicular Lines
o Rectangle
o Equilateral and Equiangular Triangle
o Kite
o Isosceles Triangle
o Trapezoid
o Scalene Triangle
o Circle
o Acute Triangle
o Prism
o Right Triangle
o Pyramid
o Obtuse Triangle
o Cone
o Two Congruent Triangles
o Cylinder
o Reflexive Property
o Sphere
o Symmetric Property
o Transitive Property
Things you have to do:
∑ You must take pictures of at least 24 figures. Any photo albums beyond 24 pictures receive
extra credit.
∑ You or your teammate must be in each picture.
∑ Pictures must be printed and placed into a page of a photo album. For example:
Circle
This is me next to the sun. The sun is a big circle.
1. The formula for the area of a circle is:
2. The formula for the circumference of a
circle is:
1.
∑ Your photo album must have a table of contents (e.g. Circle…………………………….1)
Things you can’t do:
∑ Pictures cannot be taken from the internet
∑ Treasures (geometric figures) cannot come from a mathematics classroom
∑ All pictures cannot include just you. There must be some pictures of your teammates.
