The production of energy from alternative sources is a growing market around
the world, including in Latin America, where Imequadri Duestelle participated in
the construction of a photovoltaic plant in Chile, in the Atacama Desert, about
900 meters above sea level on sea level.
The Chilean system, designed and developed by SIEL SpA, on behalf of Enel
Green Power, with Italian technology, is installed in an area with high solar
radiation, but with large variations in temperature due to the altitude. It has an
installed capacity of 36 megawatts and occupies an area of 112 hectares,
equivalent to 160 football fields.
For this photovoltaic system, Imequadri Duestelle was in charge for the design
and construction of electrical panels in low and medium voltage, supplying the
MV switchboards of the Normoclad Series: Main Switchboard, 12 compartments
(17,5kV 2500A 31,5kA ), and Secondary Switchboards, 8 with 2 compartments
and with 15 with 4 compartments (630A 17,5kV 31,5kA).
The medium voltage air-insulated switchboards of Normoclad Series belong
respectively to the categories LSC2B - PM the basic version, and LSC2B - PM
IAC AFLR version for internal arc up to 50 kA.
The Normoclad have successfully
passed the seismic tests performed at
the laboratory of CESI ISMES
Bergamo. The seismic tests, carried
out according to the standards IEEE
693-2005 and IEC 62271-210, with 1.0
g acceleration, show that the Medium
Voltage switchboards Imequadri
Duestelle are able to withstand
earthquakes of high intensity.
