My favorite pianist
In this world, there are many kinds of instruments such
as violin, viola, piano and flute. I love piano best, and I
started to learn piano when I was little. I think the
instrument's quality is very important, but the techniques of
the musician and the feelings that the musician want to
transmit are very important, too. Today I want to introduce
my favorite pianist.
Starting from 18th centry, there was a lot of pianists like
Bach, Beethoven and Schumann. Now in the 21st century we
still have many pianists, like Kevin Kern, Pletnev, Yundi Li
and Maksim Mrvica.My favorite pianist is Maksim Mrvica
because I think he's not just a pianist but also a piano player.
He is different from other pianists because he plays classic
music, and adds something new: he mixes pop music,
Techno music and classical music together, and it still
sounds great. He plays different music, but when he needs to
play real classical music, he can still be very serious. I think
Maksim Mrvica is a pianist that has perfect techniques and is
very special.
Maksim Mrvica was born in 1975 in Croatia. When he
was nine years old, he performed with his teacher. When he
was twelve years old, he played Haydn's song in his first
concert, and in1993 he won his first championship. And then
he began to study in an academy of music. He won first place
in Budapest's international music competition. When he
went back to Croatia, he became very famous.He made an
album called “Gestures” with other pianists. In 2003, he
made an album called “PIANO PLAYER”. In 2004,he made his
third album called “Variations Part 1&2”. Last year he made
an album that mixes techno music and classical music

together, “Electric”. He plays a lot of songs, and I love
“Somewhere in time” and “Flight of Bumblebee” the most.
“Somewhere in time” is a very soft song; I always cry when I
listen to it. I think when a pianist performs a song, they need
to mix their feelings with the music to create passionate
music. When I listen to this song, I can feel what the
composer wants us to feel. I think he really plays this song
very well. “Flight of Bumblebee” is a song that needs perfect
technique. When he plays this song, he shows his perfect
technique.
Maksim Mrvica is my favorite pianist. He is a pianist
that has perfect technique; he is also a piano player that
mixes classical and modern music together. That’s why he
has become one of the world’s best pianists. I hope I can be as
good as him someday.
