I.
semester
1. week: Greeting forms, introduction, typological and general characteristics of the
Hungarian language, the Hungarian alphabet (vowel harmony), phonetical exercises
(phonetical exercises related to some dental expressions)
2. week: Countries (colours), nationalities, introduction, occupations names related to
dentistry, conjugation of the verb „to be” and its use in singular; Hungarian sentencestructure, definite articles, verbs
3. week: Numbers (use of plural), time (season, month, day, hour), date (the patients
birthday), when? / at what time?
4. week: Phonenumber, s/’s/as/es/ös affixes; the numbering system of the teeth
5. week: Foods, drinks; buying (in the store, in the restaurant, in the buffet); the use of the
accusative, verbs
6. week: Foods, drinks; oral hygiene (harmful foods, drinks); adjectives (cold, warm .....); the
sensitivity of the teeth (to ....)
7. week: Revision, 1st test
8. week: Places (general, places related to the everyday life) ; directions: where? (in ....), postpositions
9. week: Places (dental office, clinics, different dental departments). Directions: where from?
where to? (revision), verbs
10. week: The use of place related suffixes in dentistry (where does is hurt? Where does the
pain radiate? Where is the problem?)
11. week: Verbs (general and verbs used in dental terminolgy), verb conjugation (present
tense, singular and plural, indefinite and definite conjugation)
12. week: Verbs, verbal suffixes and suffixes linked to eachother
13. week: Summary, revision
14. week: 2nd test and oral exam

1. week: The revision of the 1st semesters material
2. week: Public transportation, vehicles; by what? with whom? (dental tools: with what ...?)
3. week: Sightseeing in Budapest (outdoor class)

4. week: Hobbies; the use of auxiliaries (like, want, be able ....), auxiliaries used in dental
terminology (have to, may, forbidden, allowed), revision of the verbal prefixes and their use
together with auxiliaries
5. week: The use of „may” (in requests, questions); discussion of dental situations (how to use
the „may”)
6. week: Summary, revision
7. week: 1st test
8. week: Clothes (general, dental clothing), shoping
9. week: Bodyparts (detailed discussion of the head, neck and oral cavity); possessive
structure (practicing „it hurts .......” structure)
10. week: Adjectives (description of a person: external, internal caracteristics); basic,
comparative and superlative forms of the adjectives
11. week: Adjectives: dental terminology (adjectives related to patients general health
condition: healthy, sick, ....; adjectives related to the patients oral cavity and teeth: red .....,
swollen ...., white etc.; the type of pain)
12. week: The description of the family (family members, their caracterisation), questions
related to the family anamnesis of a patient (health condition, hereditary diseases)
13. week: Summary, revision, practice
14. week: 2nd test and oral exam
III.
semester
1. week: Revision of the 1st and 2nd semesters materials
2. week: Time adverbials (general, related to present, past tense)
3. week: Verbs, verbal prefixes, revision of the present tense verb conjugation; introduction to
the past tense conjugation of the verbs
4. week: Verb conjugation (past tense, indefinite, singular and plural); indefinite past tense
conjugation of the verbs used in dental terminology (focusing on singular 1st and 3rd person
conjugation)
5. week: Verb conjugation (past tense, definite, singular and plural); definite past tense
conjugation of the verbs used in dental terminology (focusing on singular 1st and 3rd person
conjugation)
6. week: Summary, revision
7. week: 1st test
8. week: The use of the possessive structures, adjectives, auxiliaries in past tense (particular
focus on the adjectives, possessive structures, auxilieries used in dental terminology)

9. week: Holidays, traditions in Hungary; calendar, dates (revision of season, month, day
names)
10. week: Conjugation in imperative (practicing the singular 2nd person conjugation)
11. week: Conjugation in imperative (practicing the singular 3rd person/formal you indefinite
conjugation with dental instructions)
12. week: Conjugation in imperative (practicing the singular 3rd person/formal you definite
conjugation with dental instructions)
13. week: Summary, revision
14. week: 2nd test and oral exam
IV.
semester
1. week: Summary and revision of the 1st three semesters
2. week: Practicing the imperative in dental instructions
3. week: Bodyparts (revision), organs (review of anatomical systems)
4. week: Diseases related to organs (focusing on the diseases mentioned in the dental and
oral surgery anamnesis chart), compound words in Hungarian language
5. week: Discussion of the anamnesis charts in practice; questions related to the anamnesis
chart

8. week: Family anamnesis based on the dental questionnaire
9. week: Social anamnesis based on the dental questionnaire

11. week: Caries; dentist - patient dialogue (the cause, time, place, type of the pain); revision of
the past tense

implant, bridge)
4. week: Total edentulousness; dentist - patient dialogue (removable prosthetic appliances)
