What connects the kidneys to the bladder? Urethers 4. Why are there two urethers? Each kidney has a urether to lead to the bladder. 5. Why is there only one urethra? We have only one bladder and one way for the urine to leave the body. 6. Which part of the excretory system changes size? The bladder gets larger as it fills with urine. It then gets smaller again as the urine is removed. 7. Is the excretory/urinary system the same for boys and girls? Yes. Just like all the other systems we have studied, the excretory/urinary system is the same for both boys and girls.
