What are you most afraid of?
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with
My righteous right hand… For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’” Isaiah 41:10,
13
The LORD is my light and my salvation – so why should I be afraid? The LORD protects me from danger – so why should I tremble?
When evil people come to destroy me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army
surrounds me, my heart will know no fear. Psalm 27:1-3

Fear Measures the Spiritual Life with Seven Tests
1. The pressure test: How will I handle life’s demands?
I want you to trust Me in your times of trouble, so I can rescue you and you can give Me glory. Ps. 50:15 (LB)
My people have done two evils: They have turned away from me, the spring of living water. And they’ve dug their own wells, which
are broken wells that cannot hold water. Jer. 2:13
2.The people test: How will I handle discouragement?
You should stop trusting in people to save you, because people are only human. Isa. 2:22
3. The pain test: How will I handle suffering?
Can anything separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble, suffering, and hard times, or hunger and nakedness, or danger and
death? Rom. 8:35
4. The panic test: How will I handle anxiety?
Be humble in the presence of God’s mighty power, and he will honor you when the time comes. God cares for you, so turn all your
worries over to him. 1 Peter 5:7
5. The persistence test: Will I keep my commitments?
If you make a promise to God, don’t be slow to keep it. God is not happy with fools, so give God what you promised. Eccl. 5:4
6. The passion test: How will I handle temptation?
But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will
keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can’t stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so
that you will not give in to it. 1 Cor.10:12, 13
Don’t blame God when you are tempted! God cannot be tempted by evil, and he doesn’t use evil to tempt others. We are tempted by
our own desires that drag us off and trap us. Our desires make us sin, and when sin is finished with us, it leaves us dead. Don’t be
fooled… James 1:13-16
7. The priority test: What will be first in my life?
Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for Him and make
the Kingdom of God your primary concern. Matt. 6:33
Remember
The Power of God allows only what is best for us.
The Love of God desires only what is best for us.
The Wisdom of God knows only what is best for us.
