ENGLISH Pupils will follow a complete literacy programme designed to stimulate and challenge their thinking whilst creating enthusiastic, lifelong readers and writers. Reading, writing composition, grammar, vocabulary, transcription, critical thinking and spoken language will be developed. It is hoped this will provide a useful guide for parents, who may wish to aid and support learning at home. MATHS Add and subtract 1, 10, 100, 1000, 10,000 and 100,000 to/from six-digit numbers Use negative numbers in context of temperature; Calculate rises and falls in temperature. Subtract four digit-numbers from multiples of 1000. Multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000. Round decimals to the nearest whole and tenth. Reflect a shape and write the new co-ordinates. They will investigate the transfer of motion, rotary to linear and vertical to horizontal. They will investigate the use of cams as a method of transferring motion.
