SECTION 3 - PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS
==========================================================================================
Appearance and Odor: Amber to brownish liquid, acrid odor
Boiling point: not determined
Specific Gravity: 1.32g/mL
Solubility in Water: appreciable
Vapor Pressure: Not determined
Vapor Density (Air=1): Not determined
==========================================================================================
SECTION 4 - FIRE & EXPLOSION DATA
==========================================================================================
Flash Point: not flammable
Extinguisher Media: Appropriate to surrounding materials
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus with a full facepiece operated in pressure demand
or other positive pressure mode. Thermal decomposition emits toxic fumes of oxides of sulfur and nitrogen.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: May react with metals to produce hydrogen gas which is flammable or explosive
when mixed with air.
==========================================================================================
SECTION 5 - PHYSICAL HAZARDS (REACTIVITY DATA)
==========================================================================================
Stability: Stable
Incompatibility (materials to avoid): Reacts with water or steam to produce heat and toxic fumes. Strongly basic materials.
Reacts with metals to produce hydrogen gas.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: At flame temperatures will emit toxic oxides of sulfur and nitrogen.
Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur
Conditions to Avoid: None
==========================================================================================
SECTION 6 - HEALTH HAZARDS
==========================================================================================
ACUTE TOXICITY
When mixed with water this is a strongly acidic material containing fluorides. Solutions may produce burns that may or may
not be immediately painful or visible.

SECTION 6 - HEALTH HAZARDS
==========================================================================================
1. EYES: Contact can cause severe burns to the eyes and may even cause blindness.
2. INHALATION: Inhalation of fumes or acid mist can cause irritation or corrosive burns to the upper respiratory system
including nose, mouth and throat. Lung irritation and chemical pneumonia can also result.
3. INGESTION: Can cause irritation and corrosive burns to mouth, throat and stomach. Can be fatal if swallowed.
4. SKIN CONTACT AND ABSORPTION: Can cause severe burns or irritation. Not absorbed in toxic amounts.
CHRONIC TOXICITY
Overexposure to material has apparently been found to cause bronchial irritation, coughing and bronchial pneumonia.
CHEMICAL LISTED AS A CARCINOGEN OR POTENTIAL CARCINOGEN: No
EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES
1. Inhalation: Remove subject to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If breathing has stopped give
artificial respiration. Keep person warm and quiet and get medical attention.
2. Eyes: Object is to seek medical attention immediately. Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes
holding eyelids apart to insure flushing of the entire eye surface. Seek medical attention immediately.
3. Skin: Wash with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and footwear. Launder clothing
before reuse. If irritation develops or burns are evident seek medical attention.
4. Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Do not induce vomiting. Give large quantities of
water. If available give several glasses of milk. Get medical attention immediately.
==========================================================================================
SECTION 7 - SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS AND SPILL/LEAK PROCEDURES
==========================================================================================
Precautions to be taken in Handling and Storage: Keep container closed when not in use. Do not get in eyes or on skin or
clothing. Use with adequate ventilation.
Other Precautions: Containers of this material may be hazardous when emptied since emptied containers retain product
residues (vapor, liquid, and/or solid). All hazard precautions given in the data sheet must be observed when handling empty
containers.
Steps to be taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled: Cleanup personnel must have proper protective equipment. Dike
solution spill area to control spill and neutralize with soda ash.
Waste Disposal Methods: Neutralize by pH adjustment and dispose in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations
or contact an approved waste disposal firm.
SARA: This product contains toxic chemical or chemicals subject to the reporting requirements of Section 313-Title III of the
Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) and 40 CFR Part 372. See Section 2 - HAZARDOUS
INGREDIENTS/IDENTITY for information on reportable ingredients and percentages. This MSDS may not be reproduced without including
this SARA information.
OSHA standard 29CFR1910.1200 requires that information be provided to employees regarding the hazards of chemicals by
means of a hazard communication program including labeling, material safety data sheets, training and access to written
records. We request that you (and it is your legal duty to) make all of the information in this Material Safety Data Sheet
available to your employees.
TSCA: All ingredients in this finished product are listed on the EPA TSCA Inventory.
==========================================================================================
SECTION 8 - SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION/CONTROL MEASURES
==========================================================================================
Respiratory Protection: If TLV is exceeded a NIOSH/MSHA approved air supplied respirator is recommended.
Ventilation: Local exhaust and/or general mechanical ventilation sufficient to maintain concentrations below TLV.
Protective gloves: Resistant gloves such as rubber
Eye Protection: Face shield or chemical goggles
Other Protective Clothing or Equipment: Impervious clothing and boots. Safety showers and eyewash stations should be
provided in areas where this product is used.
Work/Hygienic Practices: Wash with soap and water after use.
