What is Remote Check Deposit?
Remote Check Deposit offers you a secure, convenient way of depositing checks into your Infinity FCU
Membership by taking a photo of the check (front and back) using our iPhone® and Android™
smartphone applications.
Are there any fees for the Infinity FCU Remote Check Deposit service?
We are pleased to offer this service at no charge for our Membership. Other fees may still apply, such as
those for returned items, overdrafts and mobile carrier fees. For more information please review Infinity
FCU’s Schedule of Fees and Agreement and Disclosure Statements.
How do I know if I am eligible to use Remote Check Deposit?
Remote Check Deposit is available to all Members with accounts in good standing. Infinity FCU reserves
the right to disallow, suspend or terminate the use of Remote Check Deposit at any time and without prior
notice.
Where in the Mobile App is the Remote Check Deposit option?
The Mobile App menu will have a “Check Deposit” section that can be selected. If you do not see “Check
Deposit” in your menu, verify you have updated the Infinity FCU Mobile Application to version 2.0 or
later.
How will I know when the check has posted to my account?
After submitting images of the front and back of your check, you will receive an onscreen confirmation
that the deposit was sent to Infinity FCU. You will also have the option to review all pending deposits in
the “Held for Review” section of the menu.
When will the funds be available?
Remote Check Deposits are subject to final review and approval before the funds will be made available.
Once reviewed, a confirmation email will be sent informing you that your deposit was accepted, corrected
or denied. All deposits are subject to our Infinity FCU Funds Availability Policy.
When is the cutoff time for the deposit to be reflected in my account?
Most deposits submitted on business days before 3:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time (EST) will appear in
your account on the same day. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. All
deposits are subject to our Infinity FCU Funds Availability Policy.
Why am I not able to see my deposit?
Remote Check Deposits will not post to your account immediately. If you do not see your deposit or
receive an accepted, corrected or denied email response within (1) business day, please contact Infinity
FCU.
Are there limits for deposits made using Remote Check Deposit?
You are not limited to the number of deposits you can make using Remote Check Deposit. However,
there are limits on the check amount as well as daily and monthly limits on the total deposit amount that
can be processed per Primary Membership.
How should I endorse my check?
Your check endorsements should include:
 Signature
 “For Deposit only @ Infinity FCU” (to prevent mistakenly re-depositing the checks)
 Date
 Membership & Account Number
What do I do with the checks once I have deposited them electronically?
Once deposited you should store the check securely for 60 days. During this 60 day period, Infinity FCU
may request the original paper check for review at any time and as necessary for us to facilitate the
clearing and collection process, to address third party claims or for our own audit purposes. After 60 days,
the checks should be shredded and properly disposed to prevent identity theft or misuse. You may not
present the original check or any image or substitute check created from the original check for payment at
any other financial institution or check cashing establishment.
Are electronic versions of checks legal?
Yes, Check 21 legislation allows financial institutions to exchange images of checks for collection instead
of paper. In fact, the majority of checks in the U.S. are cleared electronically today.
What type of checks can I deposit with Remote Check Deposit?
Checks made payable to you and drawn on a credit union, savings and loan or bank and payable on
demand. The following examples are types of payments/checks which cannot be deposited through
Remote Check Deposit:
 Any item drawn on your account or an affiliate’s account.
 Any item stamped with a “non-negotiable” watermark.
 Any item that contains evidence of alteration to the information on the check.
 Any item issued by a financial institution in a foreign country.
 Any item that is incomplete.
 Any item that is “stale dated” or “post dated.”
 Any third party check, i.e., any item that is made payable to another party and then endorsed to
them by such party.
 Money Orders
 Traveler’s Checks
 Savings Bonds
Do I still need to endorse the deposited checks?
Yes, electronically deposited checks still require proper endorsements on the back of the check.
Why am I unable to deposit my check?
There are a few common errors that may cause your check to be rejected:
 Folded or torn corners
 Front image is illegible
 Amount entered does not match the check value
 Routing and account numbers are unclear, obscure or otherwise illegible
 No camera on the mobile device or camera is disabled
 Check image is too dark or out of focus
How do I ensure the check image passes the quality check?
There are a few recommendations to ensure the quality of the image:
 Make sure there is sufficient lighting where you take the photo of your check
 Make sure your camera lens is clean




Place the check on a dark surface
Make sure the check is clearly visible and no other objects interfere with the image
Ensure all four corners of the check are evident
Be sure your camera has focused on the check before taking the photo

Is Remote Check Deposit safe and secure?
Remote Check Deposit features multiple layers of security including a requirement to enter your
password with every Infinity FCU Mobile App log-in.
Are there any hardware/software requirements to use Remote Check Deposit?
 iPhone® smartphone with Apple iOS 5.1.1or higher and a data plan.
 Android™ smartphone with OS 2.2 or higer, a camera with focus controls and a data plan.
The Infinity FCU Mobile Application version 2.0 or higher available on Apple App Store and the Google
Play Store
Who should I contact with support questions on using this service?
You may contact the Infinity FCU Operations team for help with the Infinity FCU Mobile Apps and

How do I access Mobile Check Deposit?
Access to Remote Check Deposit is available through the Infinity FCU Mobile Apps installed on an
iPhone® and Android™ smartphone.
Do I need to include a deposit slip with my check?
Remote Check Deposit only requires a clear photograph of your properly endorsed check, both front and
back. No deposit slips are necessary or allowed.
If I discover I've entered an incorrect amount for a deposited check, should I re-deposit the check?
Remote Check Deposit’s Courtesy Amount Recognition (CAR) software helps to prevent erroneous
deposits. Infinity FCU will review and adjust deposits made through Remote Check Deposit when
necessary. You will be notified of the correction by email if your deposit required adjustment by Infinity
FCU. Please do not re-deposit the same check.
Can I use Remote Check Deposit to deposit funds to accounts other than a share or share draft
account?
The following Infinity FCU accounts are the only valid account types to accept Remote Check Deposits at
this time:
 Share (Savings)
 Share Draft (Checking)
 Club Accounts
 Money Market
*Infinity FCU does not charge you a fee for using this service. However, charges from your wireless carrier may apply. Regular account charges
apply. The Remote Check Deposit service is subject to eligibility. Deposit limits and other restrictions apply. Access to Infinity FCU’s Mobile
Banking apps and Remote Check Deposit require a valid Infinity FCU Online Banking username and password, as well as an iPhone® or
Android™ smartphone with camera and data plan.
