TSW count to 100 by 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s.
TSW describe patterns on the 100s chart as they highlight
numbers as they skip count.
TSW skip count using internet resources.

Modeling: TTW play a song on skip counting

song.html. TSW sing the song with the teacher. TTW ask
students when they might skip count. TSW discuss how skip
counting is faster then counting by ones.
Guided Practice: Using PowerPoint with 100s chart, count 1,
2, 3, 4, and 5 with the students. When you reach 5, highlight
the number using stylus. Continue counting to 5 but point to
the next number in the 100s chart. Each time the class says
5, highlight the number. When you reach 20, discuss the

pattern with the students (5, 10, 15 20). Ask the students to
describe the pattern they see. Have students predict what
will come next. Repeat this activity with 2s and 10s.
Independent Practice: TSW practice skip counting by playing
different games on the Internet.
