Ancient China For our unit on China you will be completing 6 different tasks. Each task has it’s own due date and requirements so please keep this information handy and refer to it often. When you begin your research you may use the links on the last page of this informational guide. If you find information from a link other than the ones provided YOU MUST include the address of the link in your task. All tasks will be graded on content first, then presentation. SO, if your task is pretty but lacking the needed information you will lose many points. You will have time in class to work on and finish these tasks however if you are not using class time wisely you will have to work on this on your own time at home. All tasks are due on or before the due date that YOU WILL WRITE DOWN…… Let’s get started!!! ☺ Task 1 -Ancient Chinese Geography Geographical Map of Ancient China The purpose of this map is to show early sites of civilization. The land should be all one color so that the labeling is easier to read. The Discovery of Bronze The discovery of Bronze by Shang craftworkers completely changed this civilization. Using your textbook and the links provided to research this discovery, write a newspaper article detailing the discovery and its implications for the Chinese people. Task 3 - Ancient Chinese Philosophies and Religions Philosophy Posters You will create a picture (paper size) portraying one of the 4 Philosophies of the Hundred Schools of the Zhou Dynasty (Daoism, Moisim, Confucianism, Legalism) Include written explanations of why you chose to portray these beliefs the way you did must be at least a paragraph in length. DUE 12/11 Task 4 - The Great Wall The Great Wall The Great Wall was built during 3 different dynasties. Create a map of China showing the Great Wall. The map needs to also include important facts and descriptions relating to the building of the wall during the individual dynasties.
