How it works




Wearabouts app runs on the device
The app periodically scans ambient cell ID and WiFi signals, and/or camera snapshots of its
surroundings, uploading data to the server
Wearabouts server estimates the device’s location, either globally or indoors
External applications get device location via Wearabouts API
Global positioning uses ambient
cell phone and WiFi signals

Getting started
Indoor tracking requires fingerprinting the site to build a database of
ambient Wi-Fi signals and/or camera images. The process is:
1. Log into Accuware's online Dashboard
2. Define the levels of your venue and upload floor plans for each level
3. Install on your phone or tablet Accuware app available for Android
4. Pre-define routes on the floor plans
5. Walk the routes collecting ambient Wi-Fi signals and/or camera images
6. Contact Accuware Tech Support to verify fingerprinting quality
