Telephone: 800HELSE (800 43 573). You must take your EUROPEAN HEALTH INSURANCE CARD with you together with your travel insurance when you travel in the EU/EEA areas and Switzerland. The card is free and entitles you to the necessary treatment at public treatment institutions. You order the card at helsenorge.no, or by calling 800HELSE (800 43 573). You can CHANGE YOUR GP up to twice a year through helsenorge.no, or by calling the GP telephonenumber: 810 59 500. HEALTH EXPENSES IN NORWAY You usually pay a user fee for treatment and the government pays the remainder of the treatment expenses in the public health services. You must pay for treatment at private treatment institutions yourself. You may also be entitled to have parts of the expenses for medications, nutritional products and medical consumables paid.
