HEALTH EXPENSES IN NORWAY
You usually pay a user fee for treatment and the government pays
the remainder of the treatment expenses in the public health
services. You must pay for treatment at private treatment institutions yourself. You may also be entitled to have parts of the expenses
for medications, nutritional products and medical consumables
paid. You can get more information at helsenorge.no.
If you cannot find the answer there, or if you have questions
regarding payment of health expenses or about an application you
have submitted to HELFO, you can call HELFO guidance for citizens:

CARE SERVICES. The exemption card scheme 1 is automated and
you will receive your card by post when you have reached the amount
of user fees which entitles you to an exemption card. For the exemption card scheme 2 you must submit an application to HELFO.
You can get more information at helsenorge.no, or by calling the

HEALTH EXPENSES ABROAD
When you are abroad, you do not automatically have the same
rights in the Norwegian National Health Service as when you are
in Norway. You should find out what applies to you. What you are
entitled to, is dependent on where you are staying, your membership
in the Norwegian National Health Service and the reason for why
you are staying abroad.
