What is Religion?
This topic provides an introduction to the six world religions; Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism. It also begins to
investigate religious belonging and evaluation of whether religion is important in the 21st century.
 Basic knowledge and understanding of the six major world religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism.
 Awareness of the distribution and size of religions across the world and the impact of this.
 Awareness of the distribution of religious groups in their local area and the impact of this.
 Know and understand about the key features of a Christian church.
 Expression of own opinions on the importance of studying religion.

Religion in the West
This topic provides an insight into the religions that originated in the West; Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
There is also a homework project running alongside the Religion in the West and Religion in the East topic.

This topic provides an insight into the religions that originated in the East; Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism.

Where do we look for God?
This topic introduces ideas about what God might be like. Students begin to explore the ideas about religious experience and knowing God
through nature as well as looking at evil and suffering and how this can pose questions surrounding Gods existence.
