General Info
Oliveoil Glutamate is a non ethoxylated, vegetal-derived surfactant. It is obtained
through the combination of fatty acids from olive oil, as far as the lipophilic portion
is concerned, and the sodium salt of the amino-acid glutamic acid, obtained from wheat
gluten, for the hydrophilic portion. The result is a lipo-amino-acid with
surface activity, mild detergent activity with excellent foaming power, suitable for
shampoos, soaps, bath foam, as possible examples.
Once applied onto the skin, for the hydrolytic action of the stratum corneum
enzymes, the external amide bond is hydrolyzed and the active agent is therefore
separated in the constituting molecules: fatty acids and glutamic acid. The free
aminoacid becomes part of NMF, while fatty acids, especially oleic and palmitoleic, for
their high skin compatibility, enrich the composition of cell membranes in
a direct way.
Designed to perform a mild detergent action with perceivable skin improvements,
it is the ideal partner of Olivoil Surfactant. Lipo-aminoacids show special properties like

DESCRIPTION
olivoil emulsifier is a non-ethoxylated, vegetal derived surfactant that combines the
unique fatty acid profile of olive oil with the characteristic affinity of hydrolyzed wheat
proteins toward the skin surface. the result is a new emulsifier structure with high
skin compatibility and maximum biodegradability. olivoil emulsifier is based on olivoyl
hydrolyzed wheat protein, a lipo-protein with a fatty amide structure, showing high
inter-facial activity. the result is an ‘emulsifier base’ with an outstanding emulsifying
power. this is due to its ability to mimic the ordered aggregation of water and oil
in natural systems: the liquid crystal structure. in this manner, extremely fine and
very stable emulsions are obtained, with the oil droplets surrounded by bi-layers of
amphiphilic molecules which strengthen the interface stability, thus avoiding the
coalescence. with olivoil emulsifier, the concepts of skin-compatible liquid crystals and
skin water-management become a reality. the hydro-lipidic balance of the skin, which
is significantly lowered by traditional emulsifiers, is only barely altered. the increased
capacity of the skin to retain moisture, after the application of an emulsion realized
with olivoil emulsifier can be determined. furthermore, the lipidic moiety of the olivoil
emulsifier, thanks to the relevance of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids from olive
oil, can provide a significant contribution to the anti-aging effect of the whole cosmetic
product.

To merely reduce the irritant effect of traditional surfactants, low percentages of Olivoil
products (2 - 5%) may be employed. Higher percentages of Olivoil products are suggested (5 - 15%) where an immediate feel of hydration, smoothness and softness wants
to be additionally achieved. Moreover, the higher is the percentage of Olivoil used, the
higher is the sensory eudermic effect obtained.

DESCRIPTION
the regular use of kalident-calcium hydroxyapatite over an extended period can
do much to alleviate problems caused by excessive demineralisation of dental
enamel. the use of kalident-calcium hydroxyapatite helps preventing caries or to
stabilise rampant caries, counteracting the consequences of poor oral hygiene,
acid foods and carbonated drinks. it can help prevent the dental consequences of
xerostomia or sjogren’s syndrome. it can even assist in the reversal of dental erosion and its adverse consequences.
1. adhesion to and reduction of plaque kalident-calcium hydroxyapatite has a
strong propensity to bind with protein, and adheres to plaque bacteria and glycoproteins in the oral cavity, facilitating their removal on rinsing the mouth after
brushing. this feature of hydroxyapatite has been enhanced by reduction of its
particle size through nanotechnology, so enormously increasing the surface area
to which bacterial proteins attach.
2. repair of microscopic surface damage kalident-calcium hydroxyapatite also acts
as a filler, restoring minute cracks and scratches in surface tooth enamel. reduction of its size to nanometre level has enhanced this ability of hydroxyapatite to
enter and rebuild the crystalline network at the surface defects in the enamel. by
filling minute surface lesions and restoring smoothness to the enamel, kalidentcalcium hydroxyapatite also reduces the number of sites on the tooth surface to
which plaque is likely to adhere. results of research in this area were presented at
the iadr in early 2004.
3. remineralisation of subsurface kalident-calcium hydroxyapatite, having almost
the same composition as our teeth, directly provides mineral to demineralised
subsurface areas of the tooth (incipient caries), restoring the enamel to its nearnatural state, without changing the composition of the enamel. this is in contrast
to fluorides, which are not true remineralising substances by themselves, but
promote teeth remineralisation by salivary calcium phosphate, by creating a new
substance, fluorapatite, on the tooth surface. fluorides tend to form a coating on
the surface of the enamel, in contrast to hydroxyapatite, which tends to restore
subsurface lesions from the deeper part of the lesion first. this deep restorative
effect has been enhanced by the reduction of the hydroxyapatite particle size to
two-figure nanometer size, facilitating their deeper penetration into the enamel.

General Info
over half the dry weight of human bone, 97% of dental enamel and 70% of dentine is
comprised of hydroxyapatite. human saliva, rich in calcium and phosphate ions, is a
saturated solution of hydroxyapatite. natural and synthetic hydroxyapatite have a strong
affinity with the human body, and are used widely in orthopedic and dental applications
(such as bone augmentation, dental cement, coatings for implants, etc.), as well as in
foods, as a readily absorbed dietary calcium phosphate supplement.

RESULTS
Evaluations show that, when introduced into several types of sunscreen formulas,
APALIGHT gave better performances than TiO2, in values variable from 2 to 18%
higher than standard sunscreen grade TiO2. All tests were carried out using the COLIPA method. In other words, APALIGHT showed seemingly better or at least comparable
sunscreen efficacy as micronized titanium dioxide.
In the field of anti-age efficacy, the material proved to perform a statistically significant
soft-focus effect (by sensory evaluation) a statistical decrease of deep wrinkles and a
tendential decrease of average rugosity (by skin replica). Improved biological elasticity
and visco-elastic coefficient (measured by Cutometer) were the influenced elasticity
parameters.

DESCRIPTION
echinacea angustifolia is a herbaceous
plant native to north america, considered
efficacious to heal cold and flu, wounds
and inflammatory processes, and as a
stimulant for the immune system. these
activities are provided by a variety of
chemical substances including polysaccharides and phenolic derivatives, such
as echinacoside, a compound belonging
to the family of the phenylpropanoids.
htn™ technology
easier purification of echinacoside, present in very low amounts in plant tissues,
to make a final product with high biological activities.
anti-oxidant activity
echinacoside has a considerable antioxidant activity higher than that of common natural antioxidant benchmarks.
(see picture 1) * teac (trolox equivalent
antioxidant capacity) assay measures the
antioxidant capacity of a substance compared with that of trolox (set as 1).
stimulation of collagen production
echigena 25tm stimulates the synthesis
of new collagen on in vitro cultures of
human fibroblasts. (see picture 2)
anti-inflammatory activity
echigena 25tm significantly inhibits the
production of the biological messenger
nitric oxide (no), thus limiting the inflammation processes and controlling blood
vessel tone. (see picture 3)

DESCRIPTION
Glycerophosphoinositol (GPI) salts are innovative sunflower lecithin derived active
ingredients, covered by a wide international patent both on the molecules and their
cosmetic application.
They are semisyntetic derivates of glycerophosphoinositol, a natural cell component
produced by lipid metabolism.
GPI acts upstream in the inflammatory cascade via an innovative mechanism of action
since it fits into an entirely physiological auto-regulating system.
protection from physical agents
GPI salts significantly suppress uvb-induced Prostaglandin E2 secretion in Normal
Human Epidermal Keratinocytes.
protection from chemical agents
GPI salts inhibit the release of pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1alpha from keratinocytes
of 3d human epidermis system treated with sls surfactant agent.
The compound alone does not cause a detectable cytokine release.

DESCRIPTION
Centella asiatica, also known as Gotu
Kola or Tiger Grass, is a small herbaceous plant of the family Apiaceae or
Umbellifereae and is native to Southeast
Asia, Australia, Madagascar and Africa.
Centella grows in very wet and marshy
areas, over 700 meters altitude, and
being aquatic, it is especially sensitive to
pollutants in the water, which are easily
incorporated into the plant. It is used in
Indian traditional medicine for the treatment of several diseases and in dermatology for the healing of wounds, burns
and varicose ulcers.
anti-oxidant activity
Centella asiatica stems G is rich of substances with antioxidant activity higher
than that of common natural antioxidant
benchmarks.
anti-hyaluronidasic activity
Hyaluronic acid is a major constituent
of the extracellular matrix of the dermis
and it is responsible for skin hydration
and elasticity. A decrease of hyaluronic
acid, due to the enzyme hyaluronidase,
produces loss of skin firmness. Thanks to
the synergistic effect of its constituents,
Centella asiatica stems G efficiently inhibits hyaluronidase up to 90%.
anti-inflamm. activity / vasoactive effect
Caffeoylquinic acids from Centella asiatica stems G exert a significant inhibition
of the production of both TNF-alpha, a
cytokine involved in the promotion of the
inflammation, and nitric oxide (NO), a
