accomplishments and the affects of those accomplishments:

Be able to compare and contrast Sumerian civilization to that of the U.S.
(with Government, Schools, Family life, Homes)
Be able to identify Sumerian contributions.

Be able to define what a civilization is and supply some evidence that would suggest Sumer was a
civilization.

Be able to identify and apply examples of the Fields of Study and Global Concepts to Sumerian
civilization.
(using the Sumerian information we learned….try making your own examples… ex. the fringed karnake
of the Sumerian costume was one example that shows how they had social structure = sociology. OR
ex. when the population started to increase and the food supply could not keep up with the growth, the
Sumerians moved south out of the hills to find additional farm land = change.)
Understand Sumerian religious ideals:
- major gods (polytheism)
- relationship with the gods (ex. to serve them, gave them ideas and laws etc.)
- the afterlife
