October is National Orthodontic Health Month!
It’s no secret that the doctors and staff at Dr. JAW Orthodontists love October. It’s not just
for the change in weather and Halloween excitement, it’s also National Orthodontic Health
Month!
October is a great month to visit our offices and enter one of our many contests that will be
going on throughout the month. You will want to stop by and cast your vote for during our
annual office pumpkin decorating contest. Staff members display their pumpkins and we
ask our patients to be the judges and vote for the best pumpkin.
As Halloween approaches, remember to be kind
to your braces and choose treats that are soft like
chocolate without the nuts or caramel to avoid
broken wires. If you go trick or treating and collect
candies that you know to avoid, you can always
bring them to us! We are hosting our 2nd annual
Candy Buy Back and we’ll buy your candy for $1
a pound and donate it to our American Troops
through a program called Operation Gratitude. You
can also write a letter to a troop member during
your next office visit to be included in our care
packages.

Employee Spotlight...We are so proud of our amazing staff and we want you to get to know them! Here we spotlight
Steven Leyba, Orthodontic Assistant, who has been with us for almost five years.

What do you like most about your job? I like building friendships with patients and watching
how our treatment can change a person’s life. Helping someone improve their self-esteem --just being a part of that is awesome and it’s the most rewarding part of my job. What’s your
favorite thing to do on the weekends? Spending time with my wife and son. Also working
on my car and driving --- really fast! I want to be a race car driver when I grow up. What is your
favorite office contest? Our office pumpkin carving contest! I love being able to be creative
and have a little friendly competition with my co-workers. What’s your favorite color? Red.
What is a memorable work experience? When you see a patient outside of the office and
they recognize you as the guy that helped fix his teeth and proceed to introduce you to his whole
family. I love seeing a patient understand the importance of being compliant and wearing their
appliance or bands and then seeing their excitement when their braces finally come off. I also
like our holiday parties at the doctors’ house. It’s nice to interact with your second family outside
of work. What’s your favorite color? Red. Do you have any pets? Many! 4 dogs, 3 cats, a
Colombian red tail boa, sulcata tortoise, 3 leopard geckos, a bearded dragon, and a California
king snake. Name something on your bucket list. To scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef . I’d
also like to get my D1 license. If you were given 1 million dollars, what would you do with
it? I would buy a house, a couple of race cars, get my D1 license and invest the rest.

NEW SAHUARITA OFFICE OPENED IN JUNE 2014!
The Grand Opening Event at of our new Sahuarita office was a huge
success and a great time was had by all. The office was bustling with
new patients receiving consultations and visitors checking out the
new digs. The prize wheel was spinning and Isabella’s Ice Cream
truck was parked out front offering guests a cool treat.
The opening of our new office marks the third location of Dr. JAW
Orthodontists, with our other two offices serving patients in the
Greater Tucson and Oro Valley communities. We are proud to expand
our services and be able to offer a local choice to patients and be the
only full time orthodontist office in Sahuarita, Green Valley and the
surrounding communities. “We have a commitment to our patients
to offer convenience and unsurpassed patient care. One way we
make it convenient is to make our services available and eliminate
the need to commute to receive professional orthodontic services,”
said Dr. Kyle Rabe.
We look forward to working with our existing Sahuarita patients as
well as offering our services to all residents of Southern Arizona. If
