The rates of pay correspond with the current CUPE Agreement and are effective September 1, 2013 as follows: Undergraduate (UG) $42.05 per hour + 4% vacation pay SGS I $42.05 per hour + 4% vacation pay SGS II $42.05 per hour + 4% vacation pay COURSE NUMBER & TITLE ANT206H5S Culture and Communication ANT207H5S Being Human: Classic Thought on Self and Society COURSE ENROLMENT (EST.) 150 NUMBER OF POSITIONS (EST.) 1-2 90 2-3 SIZE OF APPOINTMENT (HRS) DATES OF APPOINTMENT QUALIFICATIONS total of 205 hours; ideally to be awarded as 1 TA at 205 hours, but other splits possible if qualified TA not available January 1, 2015 to April 30, 2014 total of 330 hours; ideally to be awarded as 3 TAs at 110 hours each, or 2 TAs at 165 hours each, but other splits possible January 1, 2015 to April 30, 2014 Successful applicants will have completed undergraduate and/or graduate courses in linguistic anthropology or related fields, have an interest in linguistic anthropology research, and have an ability to communicate information clearly. Skills and background to complement instructor & other TAs may be given preference. Must be available for tutorials on Thursdays. Successful applicants will have completed undergraduate and/or graduate courses in sociocultural anthropology; an ability to communicate information clearly; strong background in social science theory preferred; previous teaching and marking experience an asset, with other skills above.
