It represents new oceanic crust. As new crust
forms it is pushed out. The youngest rock is in the
middle.

underneath explaining what is happening in the picture.
• Feel free to be as creative as you like.
• Your comic strip should also include a full description of
the process of sea-floor spreading that is explained in
words and pictures.
• You may create a story to illustrate the process or you
can be simple and just describe sea-floor spreading in a
basic explanation.
