NURSE PRACTITIONER GUIDELINES 1. BACKGROUND AF Ablation clinic has guidelines in place to assist Nurse Practitioners to make appropriate decisions regarding the specific clinical needs of patients. This document will reflect current best practice guidelines as well as legislation that affects nurse practitioners practice. Guidelines will be developed with thorough research and discussion with all stakeholders and Health Department consultation. 2. POLICY STATEMENT The following documents and guidelines have been endorsed for use by nurse practitioners to assist decision making and escalation of care. • Department of Health.
