Zeus Toilet Paper Roll Craft Contributed by Leanne Guenther This is a fun and simple color, cut and paste paper craft that uses a toilet paper roll as a base to give it a three dimensional effect. In Greek mythology, Zeus is the ruler of Mount Olympus and god of the sky. The Olympian brothers (Zeus, Poseidon and Hades) each received a weapon to battle the titans: Zeus received the lightning bolt, Poseidon received the trident and Hades received the helmet of invisibility -- after they defeated the Titans they drew lots to see who would rule what -- Zeus the sky, Poseidon the seas and Hades the underworld. Materials: a toilet paper roll, printer, glue, scissors, something to color with, a piece of paper Instructions: Print out the template of choice. Color the pieces as appropriate and cut them out. Glue the large rectangular piece around the toilet paper roll (the bottom 1/3 is the legs, the top 2/3 is his tunic. Glue the thin rectangle around the middle of the toilet paper roll (this is his belt). Fold the tabs on the feet and glue them inside the toilet paper roll to give it a three dimensional effect Glue the arms to the sides of the toilet paper roll. Glue the head onto the top of the toilet paper roll. Glue the lightning bolt into one of his hands.
